Sign-Ups for 2024 Youth Volleyball Leagues

 

 

The Person County Recreation, Arts, and Parks Department is holding individual registration for its Youth Volleyball Leagues for ages 6-17 January 2nd through February 21, 2024.

 

Ages 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 & 14-17

 

Age Cut-off: In order to play Volleyball, youth must be 6 on or before January 1, 2024 and cannot be 18 on or before January 1, 2024. 

 

Entry fee is $45.00 per resident and $62.50 per non-resident.  Each child will be provided a shirt.  Refunds are NOT available after the registration deadline.  If spots are still available after the deadline there will be a $5.00 late fee.

 

Deadline to register for volleyball will be Wednesday February 21, 2024. 

 

The season is schedule to start the week of April 1st, 2024.

 

Game days are on Saturdays for 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13-year old. 14-17 will play on Friday evenings.  Some games will be held during the week for all age groups.

  • The recreation department will be implementing the following method for team assignments:
    • Participants will sign up during the required registration dates.
    • There will be no requests for specific coaches or players this season.
    • There will be a skills day.
      • 6-7 age group (no skills day)
      • 8-13 age group (February 25th) Times: TBA
      • 14-17 age group (February 24th) Times: TBA
    • Coaches will meet after registration deadline and skills day to discuss rules/polices.
    • A blind draw will be implemented for drafting this season.
    • All players will be assigned a team and coaches will be required to follow the mandatory playing time rules.
    • Teams will not be allowed to enter into a league. We are still using a draft system with individual registration but trying to allow parents/coaches more flexibility with the team.
