 ADOPT A PARK - Individuals, businesses, organizations, and clubs can adopt a community park to keep it beautiful for all to enjoy. The adoption is for one year with 6 projects to be completed. A sign will be posted showing your group has adopted this park. Download the packet today and come by to see us if you want to adopt a park. Person County Recreation, Arts and Parks Advisory Board seeks Volunteers to fill positions on the “Friends of the Parks Committee”

The Person County Friends of the Parks Committee currently has three Board vacancies to fill. These are two year appointments approved by the Person County Recreation, Arts and Parks Advisory Board. 

The mission of Friends of the Parks is to promote outdoor recreation and community service opportunities within the Person County parks, lakes and trails systems, designed to enhance the physical, mental and social well-being of our residents and visitors.

Athletics Coaching Application

Athletics Committee

Advisory Board is soliciting volunteers for the following positions:

Athletics committee: (4 positions) – The Athletic Committee is a subcommittee of the Recreation Advisory Board.

The Main purpose and goal of this subcommittee:

1. Gather feedback from athletic program participates and spectators relating to observed needs and concerns.

2. Suggest possible new athletic programs.

3. Research program possibilities to report back to the Recreation Advisory Board to address the athletic program needs of Person County Citizens.

4. Aid the Recreation Advisory Board and the Department in efforts to inform our citizens about current programs, new programs, changes of schedule, currents rules and regulations, and many other elements dealing with Athletic programs to ensure quality and growth.

5. Making recommendations to the REC Board on policy changes in the athletic programs.
