sasquatchOver the course of thirteen years of camping and recreation programming, Mayo Park has earned its place among Person County’s premier destinations for outdoor recreation. And as the 2013 camping season began, Mayo Park completed its newest addition:  the Sasquatch Disc Golf Course.
This eighteen hole course was designed and constructed in cooperation with Mayo Park Staff, the Person County Tourism Development Authority, and David Wehrenberg of Piedmont Community 
College. With challenging wooded and water holes, the Sasquatch uses that natural beauty of Mayo Park and Mayo Lake to create a scenic, challenging course that will keep course users on their toes.  Mayo Park staff has seen a steady flow of disc golf enthusiasts playing the course. The Sasquatch hosts many tournaments, which draws participants from Person County and the
disc golf
 surrounding areas. In combination with Piedmont Community College’s Rockness Monster Disc Golf Course, and Hyco Lake Park's Kraken Disc Golf Course, Sasquatch makes Person County a great weekend trip for any disc golfer.
