Drama Camps Taught by Harley Westbrooks

Harley Westbrooks is the Theater teacher at Person High School. She has been involved with community and professional theater for 11 years .

BEGINNERS THEATER 1

Dates: June 10-14, 2024 - Times: 9-10:30am - Ages: 5-10 - Cost: $50 Location: Kirby Auditorium

This camp is the perfect introduction for your aspiring actor. Campers will explore different aspects of theater through a variety of fun theater games and activities. This camp is designed for all levels of experience and is a perfect companion to participating in our youth summer theater.

BEGINNERS THEATER 2

Dates: June 10-14, 2024 - Times: 11:30am-1pm - Ages: 11-17 - Cost: $50 Location: Kirby Auditorium

While this camp will be more advanced, it is still appropriate for all levels of experience. Campers will review important stage and theater elements through fun games and activities. Campers will also explore the audition process and learn tips to use when auditioning, in preparation for our youth summer theater.

African Drumming & Dance Camp Taught by Patricia Hall

Patricia lives in Danville, VA, where she runs Kuumba West African Dance Co. She has been involved in many Kirby productions and has also taught dance for our annual 3rd grade field trips.

Dates: June 29 & July 6, 2024 - Times: 10am-12pm - Ages: All Ages 

Cost: $20 each camp

Location: Kirby Auditorium

This 2 hours of fun will explore the history and cultural significance of this style of drum and dance. The first 45 minutes will focus on learning drumming techniques. The second 45 minutes will get campers out of their seat while learning different movements. The last 30 minutes will have campers moving their feet and feeling the beat as we put it all together.

Art and Adventure Camps Taught by Kim Solomon

Kim is native to Roxboro and teaches for Person County Schools. She is creative, energetic and loves to motivate children to strive to be the best they can be!

MIND BENDERS

Dates: June 24-27, 2024 - Times: 10am-12pm Ages 9-12 - Cost: $75 Location: Kirby Rebirth Room 203

Let’s put your brain to work! During this camp, we will learn to use critical thinking skills to follow the clues and solve new mysteries each day. We will do activities and play games each day that will require you to think outside of the box and use your noodle! All materials are included in the price of the camp.

WHEN BOOKS COME ALIVE

Dates: June 24-27, 2024 - Times: 1:30-3:30pm - Ages 6-12 - Cost: $75 Location: Kirby Rebirth Room 203

Each day participants will make an art project inspired by a book read by the instructor. This is sure to be an artistic adventure for those who want to explore their creative side. Literature and Art make a perfect pair! All materials are included in the price of the camp.

Dance Camps Taught by Paige Mishue

Paige is a local dance teacher at The Dance House in Caswell County, NC. She has been teaching dance for over 6 years.

ROYALTY DANCE CAMP

Dates: July 8-11, 2024 - Times: 9-10:30am - Ages: 4-7 - Cost: $50

Location: Kirby Rebirth Hall A

Come one, come all! We are going to have a BALL! All princesses and princes are welcome for our dance camp. Dancers are encouraged to dress up! We will dance, have crafts, play games, and have fun! Please ensure that your children have comfortable shoes and bring water!

DANCE CAMP

Dancers will learn beginning dance techniques and learn combinations for different dance styles! Please ensure that your child wears comfortable clothes and brings water.

Problem Solving Camp Taught by Samantha Kelly

Samantha Kelly is a teacher at North End Elementary. This year was her 9th year teaching and she specializes in working with students with a wide variety of abilities and students of all ages.

Dates: July 15-18, 2024 - Time: 10:30am-12:30pm - Ages: 7-11 - Cost: $50 Location: Kirby Rebirth Room 203

This camp will be full of Escape Rooms, Board Games, Minute to win it games, and more. Participants will love this engaging and interactive camp that will also increase their social and problem-solving skills. Registration fee includes a snack for each participant each day of camp.

'Art with Ms. Hernandez' Taught by Kristin Hernandez

Kristin, or “Ms. H” as her students affectionately call her, teaches art at both North and South Elementary schools here in Roxboro.

Full Day Option: Includes all 3 camps in a day, reset time in-between each class and open studio time. when you register for all 3 camps and open studio time. Students must bring their own snacks, drinks and lunch.

8:30am-5:30pm for $80

Multiple Class Option: Any student who participates in multiple classes with Ms. H on the same day, can remain with Ms. H and eat their snack or lunch during the room reset time for the next class. Students not registered for this must be picked up promptly at the end of class and dropped off again at new class time.

CD WEAVING
