Featuring: Tabitha Jacobs Polanco and her Students

Tabitha Jacobs Polanco is a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. She creates her art in her home studio and gains inspiration and comfort by spending time with her family and friends as well as giving back to her community. Tabitha is a contemporary Native artist who uses a plethora of artistic mediums to fashion what she likes to think of as purposeful art.

Ms. Jacobs Polanco began her exploration into the art world as a young lady; learning both independently and under the tutelage of her greatest mentor Ms. Dot Ingram. She has exhibited her work at the Annual North Carolina Indian Unity Conference Juried Arts Show, the Guilford Native American Association Art Gallery, the North Carolina Zoo during Native American Awareness day, the UNCG Native American Cultural Festival, the Lexington Native American Cultural Festival, and various private collections around the country.
