Sappony Art: Strength - November 1-30, 2012

Reception - November 3, 2012, 2:00-3:15 p.m.

Come see the beautiful art of the Sappony tribe! The Sappony, a tribe of about 850 members, have called Person County, North Carolina and Halifax County, Virginia home for hundreds of years.

This month-long exhibit in honor of American Indian Heritage Month celebrates the strength of generations of endurance through many mediums including quilting, basketry, jewelry, painting, photography, drawing, poetry, carving and more!

Artist members of the Sappony tribe will be on hand Saturday, November 3 2:00 - 3:15 to speak about their art.
