Family Planning
The Family Planning Program goal is to offer services that allow individuals to better plan for their desired family, number of children, timing of children, and spacing between pregnancies.  This program offers a wide range of preventative care services that are critical to reproductive and sexual health.  These services are available to males and females.  We provide patient education, physical exams, laboratory testing, several methods of birth control, pregnancy testing and counseling, and emergency contraception.

Care Management for At Risk Children 
CMARC is a care management service provided for children and their families from birth to 5 years of age.  The goal is to improve a child’s care by linking families to services that will meet the specific needs of a child and their family.

Immunization Program
The goal of the Immunization Program is to prevent and control vaccine preventable diseases by protecting families and communities from preventable illness and disease outbreaks through education and vaccine utilization.  We aim to ensure that all North Carolinians are up to date with their immunizations across their lifespan.

Maternal Health Program
The primary mission of the Maternal Health Program is to ensure that all individuals who are pregnant and low income have access to early and continuous prenatal care and postpartum care.  These services include screenings, counseling, prenatal care provided by providers who specialize in the OBGYN field, laboratory testing, referrals, and assurance of postpartum care.

Communicable Disease Program
The purpose of the Communicable Disease Program is to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases through detection, tracking, investigation, control, education, and care activities.

Sexually Transmitted Infection Services
The goal for STI services is to prevent and control sexually transmitted infections and promote safe sex practices and sexual health.  Learn more about prioritizing sexual health, how to prevent STIs, how to receive testing, and how to receive treatment for STIs.  There is no charge for these services.

Care Management for High Risk Pregnancies
CMHRP is a care management service provided for pregnant, Medicaid recipients.  This is a statewide program in North Carolina that promotes healthy mothers and babies by assisting in the prevention of adverse pregnancy outcomes and improving birth outcomes.

Health Education 
Health Education strives to equip the community with the resources necessary to live healthy lifestyles. 

Laboratory
The laboratory offers support to health department programs through the provisions of tests which are essential screening and diagnostic tools.

Lead Program
Childhood lead poisoning is one of the most common pediatric health problems in the United States, even though it is entirely preventable. This program provides testing and follow up to children with high lead levels. 

School Health Program
The purpose of the School Health Program is to assure that children achieve and maintain optimum health, in order to promote maximum physical, emotional and intellectual growth. The Health Department works in collaboration with the Person County Board of Education nurses. 

WIC- Women, Infants, and Children Program
The WIC Program provides supplemental food and nutrition education for women, infants, and children (under five) who are at nutritional risk.
