DONATIONS

The ongoing support of our community has been nothing but amazing, and we are so grateful for all donations and support we receive. All donations are used to make the pets in our care more comfortable, happier and healthier. On occasion, we do receive items we may not be able to use or are not currently in need of. In these instances, we will pass those items along to our rescue partners or other local organizations, such as the Christian Help Center.

Person County Animal Services also accepts the following items for donation:

Cat Litter (clumping)
Unopened Dog and Cat Food (canned and Dry)
Purina Kitten Chow Dry Food
New and unused Collars and Leashes (All sizes)
New and unused Dog and Cat Toys
Enrichment Toys (Kongs, SnuffleMats, etc.)
Dog and Cat Shampoos
Cleaning Supplies (Blue Dawn Dish Detergent, Bleach, Trash Bags, Brushes, Hand Soap)
Cat and Dog Carriers and Kennels (in good condition)
Dog Houses (in good condition)
Towels, Washcloths and Small Blankets (new or gently used-no holes or tears)
Monetary Donations
Gift Cards (Amazon, Walmart, Tractor Supply)

We unfortunately cannot accept the following items:

Large blankets or comforters
Torn/heavily used towels or blankets
Sheets, Pillows
Open dog or cat food (we can only accept if it is in an airtight, resealable container)
Expired food or treats

Donations should be brought to the shelter during regular business hours. Please do not leave donations outside of our gate after hours, as they can be damaged or contaminated by the weather and wildlife. You can also leave donations at PetSense in Roxboro for staff to pick up. If you are unsure if a specific item can be donated, please contact us!

VOLUNTEER

Person County Animal Services loves our volunteers! Our volunteers assist staff with many tasks, as well as socializing with out animals to help prepare them for adoption and new furever homes. Our volunteers also assist with events both at the shelter and off-site events, such as Adoption Events and Rabies Clinics.
