PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE 

This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on the proposed FY 2025 Community Transportation Program Application to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than October 6, 2023.  The public hearing will be held on September 18, 2023 at 9:00 am in Room 215 of the Person County Office Auditorium located at 304 S. Morgan Street, Roxboro, NC before the Person County Board of Commissioners.

Those interested in attending the public hearing and needing either auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or a language translator should contact Mitch Fleig, Public Transportation Director, on or before September 15, 2023 at telephone number 336-597-1771 or via email at mfleig@personcountync.gov.

The Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate existing transportation programs operating in Person County as well as provides transportation options and services for the communities within this service area.  These services are currently provided using demand response, subscription and trip referrals.

Services are rendered by utilizing ADA equipped vans and Light Transit Vehicles (LTV’s).  The total estimated amount requested for the period July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025:

This application may be inspected at the Transportation Office, 303 S. Morgan Street, Roxboro, NC  27573 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.  Written comments should be directed to Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, Michelle Solomon, at 304 S. Morgan Street, RM 212, Roxboro, NC  27573 by noon on September 15, 2023.
