Person County’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is responsible for coordinating countywide emergency planning and response for all types and scales of emergencies and hazards. OEM has experienced staff that can assist our industries, businesses, and communities to be prepared to withstand hazards, adapt quickly to disruptions, and resume day-to-day activities as soon as possible.

Emergency Management houses the County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) that helps monitor and manage resources and activities to provide an efficient response to any situation from severe weather to large scale emergencies to mass gatherings or activities that may overwhelm county resources. We operate in conjunction with other government agencies, the private sector, and community stakeholders to gather and disseminate information to establish goals and priorities. This helps local agencies to respond and recover from an event before, during, and after an emergency or threat to minimize impacts on our communities.
