Tax listing forms are mailed in late December to all taxpayers that listed taxes for the previous year. If you only have real property (house & lot), and registered vehicles (tagged), then you will not need to complete a new listing form. 

If you have any of the items below, you will need to complete a listing form. If you did not receive a listing form in the mail, visit 13 Abbitt Street to complete a form OR download a listing form for Personal Listing or Business ListingTax listing forms must be completed and returned to our office before January 31 to avoid a listing penalty.

  • Untagged Vehicles, including 

  • Cars

  • Trucks

  • Motorcycles

  • Trailers (utility & boat)

  • Campers

  • Motor Homes

     

  • Aircraft

  • Boats & Motors

  • Jet Skis

  • ATVs & Golf Carts

  • Permanent Tagged Trailers

  • Farm Equipment, including

  • Tractors

  • Combines

  • Harvesters

  • Hay Balers

  • Mower Conditioner

  • Haybine

  • Hay Rake

  • Bush Hog

  • Plow

  • Discs

  • Cultivator

  • Farm Trailers

  • Tobacco Trailers

  • Sprayers

    Instructions for Completing Tax Abstract

  • Do NOT write in shaded areas.
  • This abstract must be received by the Tax Office before January 31 to avoid a 10% penalty.
  • Please fill out this abstract COMPLETELY, sign and date. All forms not signed will be rejected.
  • Review the list of taxable items provided. Make any corrections necessary. If an item has been sold, mark through that item and indicate the new owner's name, if known.
  • ADD any items that are not listed. If additional space is needed, attach a separate sheet.
  • DO NOT list vehicles that have a current tag. DO LIST items with permanent tags.
  • If you have inherited property since last January, provide documentation (will or death certificate) so the Tax Office can correct the ownership information.  Check the address for accuracy.
  • The form is designed so it can be completed by mail. If a black form or assistance is needed, visit the Tax Office at 13 Abbitt Street or call (336) 597-1721.
  • If you wish to apply for Property Tax Relief for Elderly or Permanently Disabled Persons, contact the Tax Office for an application.
