Payment Options: Search/Pay Taxes

I received a certified letter stating that my past due taxes will be garnished. What happens next?
You will have 10 days to pay the tax in full to prevent the garnishment being sent to your employer. If the bill is not paid in full within the 10 days, your employer will be required to withhold 10% of your gross wages from each paycheck and submit the payment to the tax office. Many taxpayers choose to simply pay the bill in full so that the employer will not be notified of the past due tax bill.

I have not paid my real estate taxes and they are delinquent. What happens now?
Once a tax bill is past due, the tax office will begin to use forced collections methods. This includes bank attachment, wage garnishment, seizure of motor vehicles, and foreclosure. In order to avoid these actions, contact the tax office and make arrangements to get the tax bill paid.

What is the last day to pay if I do not want my name in the paper as a delinquent taxpayer?

The last day to pay your tax bill in full to avoid your name being printed in the paper as delinquent is February 23, however the tax office will begin forced collections as soon as the tax bill is past due.
