Detention Center

The Person County Detention Center is located on the second floor of the Person County Sheriff’s Office at 120 Court Street. You can access the second floor to the Detention Center by taking the elevator or stairs located in the main entrance of the Sheriff Office.

Bonding Procedures

There are three ways to bond an inmate: 

  1. Hire a Bail Bondsman. Their fee is 10-15% of the bond amount.
  2. Post a bond in cash.
  3. Post a property bond (property must be located in Person County). When posting a property bond, any amount greater than $19,999 requires reaching out to the Clerk of Court Office.

Inmate Money Account

All inmates currently have their own commissary account. This account is used for the purchase of personal toiletries and food items. All money that is in the possession of the inmate at the time of processing will be automatically applied to this account. Money can be applied to an inmates account on-site using the kiosk in the detention lobby or online by going to www.JailATM.com.

Phone Call Procedures

Inmates can use the phones in the cell block(s) to make calls. Inmate phone service is provided through Combined Public Communications. To buy phone time for an inmate, visit www.inmatesales.com or call 877-998-5678. We also have a kiosk in the jail lobby located downstairs of the Law Enforcement Center. The Kiosk will accept cash, debit, and credit cards.

Visitation

The Person County Detention Center now only utilizes video visitation. Friends and family will need to register and schedule visits online at www.inmatesales.com.

One free online visit is allowed per inmate. Additional remote visits can be purchased/scheduled online at www.inmatesales.com.
