Work Adjustment Training offers people with disabilities who want to work, the opportunity to develop solid work habits and skills through job coaching provided by Person Industries.

Your VR counselor may refer you to Person Industries for a short period of training in order for you to practice good work habits and build work stamina. You will work on specific goals addressing barriers to competitive employment during this training period, which can last up to 90 days. Depending on the availability of work sites in your areas of interest and your goal needs, this training program could be either in-house or based in a business within the community. During this training period you will participate in paid work with a daily schedule, work assignments, a supervisor and co-workers, all the while receiving the support of a job coach and daily monitoring to offer counseling and training. This program is particularly useful for those who have been out of the workforce for a long period of time. Part of your training may include Jobs Group, an eight-week seminar that meets once per week to work on resume development, cover letters, identifying references, practicing interviews, and submitting job applications to better prepare you for entering the workforce.

If you need further assistance to find work and will benefit from on-the job training once you are hired, your VR counselor may refer you for job coaching services.  Job Coaching services connect you with employers so you can find work more quickly. We focus on your interests, targeting jobs in your area that fit your skills, income needs, and expectations. Job Coaches provide expert career advice, placement services, and strong follow-along support to enhance your success.  Through job coaching services, Person Industries can help you achieve a successful rehabilitation outcome by assisting you with finding positions compatible with your abilities, education, skills and limitations.

Your career of choice may require you to complete further schooling. Person Industries can help you find the best school to meet your needs.
