Before you request a Sign Permit, please have the following information available: 

  • 2 sets of plans (Plan review 5 to 7 days)
  • Free standing signs must be engineered for 90mph wind loads. Footings and wind loads must be addressed by the engineer.
  • Site Plan
  • Contact Information
  • Completed Application (All Signatures)

1.) Download and print out the Sign Application HERE. If you have any questions about filling out the application, please contact the Inspections Dept at 336-597-0570.

2.) Submit the Forms to Person County Inspections Dept. at 325 S. Morgan Street or you may bring them to our location directly.

3.) Your application will be accepted or rejected and you will be notified by an inspector or the permitting tech. This process will take approximately 5-7 business days.

4.) If your application is approved, then the next step is to obtain zoning approval. If location of the property is outside the city limits, you will need approval & permits from Person County Planning & Zoning and/or Environmental Health. If location of property is within the city limits, you will need approval and permits from City of Roxboro Planning and Development.

If your application is rejected, then your next step is to provide us the changes or additional information that we need to reprocess the application.
