Directed by Fred Motley. R.P. McMurphy is a criminal who gets himself committed to a mental hospital instead of jail because he thinks it's a lighter sentence. It doesn't take long for him to realize his mistake, however, when he runs afoul of the frighteningly sadistic Nurse Ratched, who runs the ward with an iron fist. But McMurphy takes over the yard, stages a revolt so the patients can watch the World Series, and arranges a rollicking midnight party.
