THE EARTH DAY EXTRAVAGANZA!
Celebrate Spring and Going Green with your friends and family on April 11 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This all day event is free and open to all ages. At the Kirby Theater join Bright Star Children’s Theatre as they present “Gus Goes Green” at 10:00 AM. “Gus, our giant dog puppet, leads your audience on a STEM-inspired adventure around the globe. He uses clever resources to find creative solutions for a thirsty man in the desert, a wacky inventor, a toy maker and one very funny bug.” Then travel to Person County Office Building Auditorium at 304 S. Morgan St. Roxboro NC 27573 for a maker space with recyclables provided by The Scrap Exchange, their “Make N’ Take” event from 1:00 to 3:00 PM will keep your kids crafting and exploring. From 3:00 to 4:00 PM NC Forestry will present a special Forest Fire Safety exhibition with “Smokey the Bear.” Also Person Recycling Center will have Bottle Betty and The Can Man and recyclable games to keep your kids excited. At 4:00 PM prepare yourself for Bright Star Children’s Theatre performance of “American Giants of Science,” will be center stage in the Auditorium. Last but not least across the street at Huck Sansbury Park where Person County Parks and Recreation will have the Easter Bunny ready to hop with your kids as they go on an egg hunt at 6:00 PM. So much to do April 11 with your family, so don’t miss the fun!
